Hi, I have a damaged tft screen. I recently took my notebook to school, and I think my tft is damaged by some object(power cable) that I took with it in the bag. There are no scars at all on the screen but it's behind the plastic coating. It's not visible with a white screen as background but it really is visible in a black background. I think the pixels are damaged and I waited for a whole day and it's still there. I use a sleeve to protect my notebook but apparently that's not enough.

It's like sort of a grey/white smudged mark. I think the screen is pressed to hard against the notebook it self and it's not the keyboard it's actually the case itself between the keyboard and the touch pad.

I have added a sample of how it looks, I made it with photoshop it looks almost the same as how I see it in real. Is there a way to fix this?? I am really depressed by this please help.
    Thank you.

I doubt any physical damage is repairable through software. You probs have to send it to Zepto support or any other computer repair shop or something.

As for the sample, its just a black picture no grey things you are talking about.

    Sorry

thnx for your reply. Will the insurance include this problem? or do I have o pay to fix this. And for the Sample if you look closely you can see a very light smudged grey row somewhere int he upper right screen.

You are lucky that nothing is broken. It is quite easy to put a lot of pressure on the back of the screen if you have a hard lumpy object pushing against it in a bag (the UK mains plug is particularly dangerous). A sleeve will help but it doesn't provide complete protection. The only safe things to have against the back of the screen are flat things like an A4 writing pad.

As for fixing the problem, I have read about techniques such as simple massaging of the affect area, but I never yet had the need to try.

I tried to massaging at the damaged area a couple second ago, and it's not working for me. Or do you have to massage it hard or long?

I am thinking you have to press it a bit hard so that the lcd liquid gets spread to that area or that smudge gets loose and becomes normal again.

I am not sure about this so dont try it if you dont want to and dont blame me for any further damage

Yeah, that looks like preassure damage.
A new LCD panel (off of the top of my head) cost aprox £200 without shipping of the machine and without the actual repair costs.

What kind og insurance are you referring to?

I dont think the zepto warranty covers damage you caused yourself.
Unfotunatly for you this means you'll have to pay for the repair

Sorry I meant warranty, I typed to fast :p .

Well the thing is I was already very careful with it, I even put a thick book between the notebook and the power supply. And after one day it already damaged my tft screen.

I even prefer scratches on the screen than a blurred white stripe, although it's only visible when the screen is black. But what is this problem called so I can search for some solutions if I can.
