    Hi,

I've been trying to optimise my M18xR2 for a long time now but I still keep getting stuttering issues in games.

I have previously been able to achieve CPU Max frequency up to 3.4Ghz but when I monitor using XTU now the CPU stays at around 2.4Ghz.

I played around with the Overclocking features, but a lot of the features are disabled by default and greyed out and I'm unable to push the CPU further than x24 at 100Mhz frequency.

I have performed quite a few benchmarks and I was achieving a score of 632 marks previously but now when I benchmark it never goes above 480 marks. I'm baffled as to what I have changed.

The BIOS I'm running is A14, is that the best one?

Does anyone know the best settings with the hardware I have listed below so I can get the best performance out of my laptop?

    Many Thanks

    Mustang

What CPU do you have? You maybe have disabled the Turbo by playing around in the BIOS?

If you still have the 3630QM in your sig, you really need to pick up a 3920xm/3940xm and get 4ghz on all cores minimum.

I'm online in my mobile most of the time, thus don't see any sigs.

Ok, that makes sense, as 2,4 GHz is the Base clock of the 3630. Then he, most likely, has deactivated his turbo.

So I deleted all programs that tried to manage the CPU, such as XTU etc and restored the default BIOS settings like you said. When I restarted it had fixed itself and my CPU can now run at 100% if I want it to.

    Thanks for the help

I have in fact just purchased the 3940xm for £185. Haven’t installed it yet as I need to order a new heatsink (the triple one). Now all I need is the 980m GPU and I’ll be happy ;)

Looking forward to having some decent performance out of this laptop for once.
