Hi! There aren't informations about clevo pascal quadro cards so my question is: Could I upgrade a Clevo P750DM2-G or a Clevo P775DM3-G with a Not-Clevo MXM Pascal Quadro card P3000/P4000/P5000?

At the moment there are workstations like Fujitsu Celsius H970, Dell Precision M7720, HP Zbook G4 17, Lenovo Thinkpad P71 or MSI WT73vr with these MXM Pascal Quadro P3000/P4000/P5000 cards. Why clevo doesn't have these cards?

Someone used a dell P5000 card for upgrading an Alienware 17x r4

    or a Precision M6700

Most people don't bother with Quadro's as unless there's a specific program you use that needs a Quadro they are a waste of money for the performance you get out of them

Hence my statement about unless you have a specific program that needs a Quadro. Most programs that used to state they needed a Quadro (editing, colour correction etc) no longer need them and you tend to get similar performance from the GTX 1080 for thousands of $'s less.

Would also be interesting to see what the performance is like now as that article is a year old and is based on the desktop models not the laptop ones. What you really need to find is a performance chart based on the laptop versions of the Quadro P series VS the laptop series of the GTX for those programs.

Also bear in mind that all 3 of those programs they tested with were already years old and not optimised for newer GPU's so you may find that the newer versions of the programs work much better with the GTX range

    "Professional Applications
Using a consumer GPU for professional applications is tempting. The price differences to the Quadro cards are often very big, but the GeForce drivers are not certified and also pretty limited in some cases. Depending on the driver version (for notebooks in particular), the performance can fluctuate significantly. We took a "good" GTX 980 in the Schenker XMG U716 and a "bad" one in the GT72S as an example, because they differ a lot in Maya, for instance. Both cards offer a similar DirectX performance, but the different driver versions result in these big differences. By the way, the 980 SLI did not have an advantage over a single 980. The professional M5000M and even the M3000M are much faster is some tests like Siemens NX, despite the slower hardware. Still, the performance of the GTX 1080 with the driver version 368.13 was good in general."
