I just got unreal 2004 and you have to have the disk in to play, I really don't like that, and I don't want to carry the disk with me and possible damage it and then I can't play so....I'd like to copy the disk or burn the disk image to the hard drive. I know I will need some software to do this and I only want freeware, I really am not willing to buy anything right now. I know there are sites for this information but I went to one of the "best" onees and they just provide so many links to so many programs to do differeent things I get lost. I'd just like a tutorial of simply steps of how I can use a program or 2 to get the job done. If anyone has a website they like or program they use please let me know so I can check it out. I do have a preference to just run the entire game off the hard drive, its crazy I load 5 GB's on my hard drive and then need the disk in to get the 1MB file to play.

yeah i used gamecopy world for my Max Payne 2 because i didn't see any point in carrying around the extra disc. However, with unreal 2004 i would be warry, usually once a game is cracked it can no longer be updated, and with an online game like that you wouldn't be able to play anymore online without either reinstalling, or restoring the old files and updating, and then finding a new crack.

well i can understand that but if I make a backup copy of the game that should work with updates right? It be nice to have it all on the hard drive but more important is not having to worry about losing the only copy I have because I have to carry it.

You should try Alcohol 120%. You can create an image and mount it with this program.

    Get it here.

The latest official UT2004 update patches allow you to play the game without the cd...no need for cracks or no-cd patches.

I don't know if something is just really screwed up, but I don't need the CD to play. I installed it on my 8600 and it never asks for the disk. My guess is that it is because I installed the demo first.
It's the wierdest thing, but I like it[:D]
BTW I never took an image, used a no-CD patch, etc.
