Try to use a latest antivirus to remove your virus.
Reinstalling operating system maynot be help. But if you can format the system completely and install the OS again then your problem will be solved.

So does pirating. But wait, why is this thread in the "What Notebook Should I Buy?" section? I almost thought the OP wanted to buy a notebook preloaded with viruses.

okay to the point. yes it will delete the virus because whole file will be rewrited or formated. however if you don;t want to go through all those stuff, go to safe mode and download the anti virus

Back to the original poster's questions:

You can't get a virus by gaming offline (unless the game shipped with a virus like Sony's rootkit ). You can get a virus via pirated files such as music or videos. You can get a virus if you download a file/open an attachment that is a Trojan horse.

Reformat the entire hard drive completely and install Windows. Or you can boot into Safe Mode and run some sort of up-to-date antivirus. AVG has a free antivirus scanner that is pretty good.
