Well at least Comodo IS is better than the OP..

I've used it for years, but stopped using it when a new version last summer made the computer incredible slow.
Haven't tried it since then, dunno if they fixed it.

I tried it recently before I purchased Kaspersky Internet Security as I was hoping to find a decent security suite but it made my top of the line Notebook running with 8GB RAM on an i5 2.93 Ghz. crawl like a turtle, running a scan makes the computer not only slow, but entirely useless, and we're talking about a fast freshly formatted computer here, imagine how it'd perform on older computers! Absolute nightmare. Uninstalled it immediately and purchased Kaspersky Internet Security and never been happier. Performance is good with the best security

Yeah, CIS was a nightmare last year, but that's not how it used to be. I've used it on old computers and had no issues with it at all.
I'm going to try it again soon.

    Do you work for Kaspersky?

Odd that some of you had performance issues. When I ran CIS it took up maybe 16MB of RAM and almost no disk IO/CPU. I also wasn't running the AV though, just the D+ and Firewall.

oh no way bro! I actually hate their support people. They have no sense of customer service whatsoever. And their support forums are a joke! If you post anything that they don't like, your post gets deleted and you aren't even notified!

The only reason I use Kaspersky and love it is that because it has kept me safe for years, and the latest version 2012 has vastly improved the performance. It is no longer a resource hog as it used to be. It now is very similar to Eset's Smart Security. You don't even feel it's there yet it is way better as its built in firewall is top notch unlike Eset Smart Security's POS firewall that allows internet access to most programs by default.
