This damn Y470P is driving me insane. I received it today about 6 hours ago and it has been a nightmare. I just came out of a horrible experience with Acer, I thought Lenovo would be better but I was wrong.

I switched the power plan to high performance, manually switched the card to high performance (click configure switchable graphics) (7690m). And neither 3dmark06/11 or Vantage test the 7690m. I'm wondering if Lenovo even put a dedicated graphics card in this laptop at all. Is there a way to check it without opening this damn piece of trash?

Sorry. Everything seems to go wrong for me. Life can't even give me a non-defective laptop.

Anyways, it is plugged into a power source - UPS (battery backup/surge protector).

by this do you mean that you went in to CCC, went to "switchable graphics method" under the "Power" box, and clicked on "select the graphics processor manually or based on power source"?

Yes, I did that Bomino. And also went into "Switchable graphics" and selected "High performance." I even turned off "Automatically select power-saving GPU when on battery."
