Aren't Ivy Bridge laptops coming out in couple of months?

Nice to see they're still using the awful 1366x768 screen still....

Yeah, they are coming out soon and Lenovo is refreshing their Ideapads model line. Y480 will stick to 1366x768 as well unfortunately. Personally for me that is an appropriate resolution for a 14" screen, however someone else might find it lacking. Only 15 inch Y580 will get a Full HD upgrade.

There are still a few months to go waiting for April releases. Therefore, if Y470p is released before then, it would grasp an even stronger role of a portable gaming solution, getting closer to M14x in graphics power while maintaining lighter weight. I'm just excited at upgraded graphics more than anything :)

Looks to be same everything, maybe just newer SB processors and the 7690M which is just a 100MHz faster 6770M which is better than the 550m for sure. Not bad.

The Y470P is now on their site, but besides a higher price, I see no spec difference.

Hmmm, yeah... "Multimedia magic with AMD graphics" GT 550M. Lenovo is trolling us, lets hope it's a mistake.

I am sure it is a mistake. I bought my brother an E420 when they first came out and they listed the screen res as 1600x900...I was pissed when I found out it was a 1366x768. Thankfully they upgraded the RAM and HDD for free because of that.

This looks to be just a Y470 with AMD 7690m, nothing else has changed.

I prefer the 550, since much better switch function with Optimus. Still, this system is more expensive than the Y470 with same specs plus Blu ray.
