So as expected the I7 coffee lake was pretty okish, BUT intel is now messing with AMD's Ryzen, the coffee lake I5 8400 is such an amazing price to performance beast it will mess with ryzens CPU's a lot. Guess Intel has stolen the medium end market witht heir I5 8400s.

~220USD for an I5 - 8400 is amazing. I'm interested to see how AMD will react to this.

Only problem - 8400 has no HT, is locked and has lower clockspeeds than what Ryzen can achieve. The R5 1600 is going to be equal in gaming and about 30% faster in multi-threaded applications. The more impressive chip is the 8600K as that can actually compensate for the lack of the HT with clockspeed but the 8400 is just uninspiring. 2.8GHz base clock, 3.6GHz boost clock. Nothing impressive since R5 1600(X)s do 4GHz pretty consistently and that makes up for the IPC difference, which is about 5% in favour of the 8400 when comparing clock for clock.
