Clevo/Prema 980m installed but Internal screen not working

    Um yes. You shouldn’t be using any shims at all...

    Just put two copper shims sandwiched with conductonaut on the CPU, 39c Idle and 68c max load!

    I have no CPU shims and that's what I get at stock clocks......overclock to 3.6ghz is a different story

    Do you think I should keep them in? The system performs better with them

    I wouldn't, no system is designed to use shims and you risk damage to the CPU and GPU. If you feel the heatsinks are not making adequate contact it's far safer to try a new heatsink (like 5$ on ebay).
