from what ive seen, it depends on the type of egpu enclosure, whether or not this non-egpu firmware will work.

Based on what jaybee said above what egpu enclosures stand the best chance of working with this firmware ?

People are taking that No eGPU supported thing way too seriously.
There is no way to know something will not work without trying it.

i think you said yourself that the razer core is a bit finicky when it comes to this, while other enclosures i.e. from aikitio or powercolor devilbox seem to be more "forgiving" @bloodhawk

and well, u cant blame a guy for doing proper research before buying stuff worth more close to or more than 1k and just "trying it" ;)

Thanks for the feedback bloodhawk/jaybee83/ I am a bit hesitant and just want to make sure, the firmware says egpu not supported so I just wanted some clarification on that and if anyone out there has done it or plans to hopefully they will share their experiences on this.

    Hi.
I've just install a fresh win10, and in the bios, all setting are set to default value.

WHY the "thunderbolt 1575" is not detected ?!?!

(The controller is enabled in the bios)

Perhaps other values need to be set ?

    Regards, Ray

Assuming you have the Thunderbolt drivers installed, Then the controller doesn't normally show up in device manager unless you have something connected to the TB controller or you run the 'ControllerForcePower' software from the TB firmware update software, and then the TB controller shows up under 'System Devices'

if i use the command "Controllerforcepower 1" : An error occurred while trying to execute the WMI method: class non valide.

i suppose because the driver is not loaded (installed yes, but nothing because i don't have any device with an error in 'system devices'.

But before reinstall, i can do "controllerforcepower 1" without problems, and driver stay loaded, this is why i know the "Thunderbolt 1575" name.

If the driver is installed then the only ways to get it to load in device manager is to either use the Controllerforcepower or to have a device connected. Did you run the CMD prompt as Administrator?

    Yes , CMD as administrator.

I just go into bios, reset to default, and make a fresh win10 install : No error, like if thunderbolt peripheral is disabled into the bios, of course thunderbolt is enabled.
it works with the old install, if you read the owner's lounge , you'll see a post of me who describe the error when i want to flash it (no success, of course)

I have nothing in the device manager, incredible... :O(
