    Hello
    Recently i upgraded my GPU from a nvidia 680m to a 980m

Everything works fine except the laptop is not recognizing the GPU

I know that prema had mods for the bios and vBios but his website is closed
Dose anyone still have the bios and vBios for this model or infos for an alternative?

    BIOS string means nothing meaningful

Have you tried INF mod to get the driver installed?

yes i did, bipases the nvidia block but then still fails install (windows sees it as standard gpu and bios mention no gpu, gpuz standard but give no other info l)
-at this point i could need the 2T version from prema bios after i try the vbios if it still not works

Please give more details on what you mean by fails install ("compatible hardware not detected"?)

Also can you confirm your hardware or include some screenshots of gpu-z etc. What the device ID / subsystem IDs show in GPUz is important

BIOS GPU string won't change with drivers, it affects nothing, it's not relevant. If you get a POST/splashscreen/BIOS display on the panel is that not all the proof you need the GPU is detected and working......

2T version is only for getting certain combos of 4 stick / high end ram working if it doens't with 1T

I think I remember reading somewhere EM do need firmware upgrade to get 9 series working, whether that was only p150/170em I can't recall. Prema vBIOS is well worth it anyway if cooling is up to scratch (and use the temp limit if it isn't)

Looks like your INF has not been modded correctly.

    instructions here (clevo version obviously)

This is the file from that thread I used to get drivers installed for my 1070 (in case you don't have an account on TI with 5 posts in which case you can't download the file)

I'm 99% confident in saying if different firmware was *required* you wouldn't have got to this point already (no boot/no display)
