    I don’t think there’s anything malicious about it. Due to not being designed for ray tracing, the GTX 1080 probably bottlenecks on memory bandwidth or something else that prevents the GPU from being fully utilized.

    This was done with x50 all core multiplier, x47 cache with a decent undervolt and and low ambient temps.

    Curious as to whether anyone here has lapped the die on their 9900K/9700K?

    I've not seen anyone mention in but it would be the final tweak (along with sanding the bottom of the IHS to match the height drop).

    Yes, that should be interesting to test. Especially how a lapped 9900k stacks up against the 9900ks.
    I also wonder if the KS actually have a thinner diffusion layer compered to the launch chips.
