Not done a wall power test on it, just comparing this to my old chip.

Pushing I've had mine to benchmarks at around 5.25GHz on max fan on my custom laptop stand.

Thanks for detailed reply. Yes, the Scandinavian weather does seem to help us.
I'll have to test sitting outside in the danish weather and test temps, heh.

    For a freshly minted P751TM1.

    My first Firststrike run: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/18721756

9900K seems to be doing OK and holds just shy of 4.7 GHz. Came with a -100mV from factory, and I increased the power limits slightly to try to get to stock all core boost with OK temps.

RTX 2080 is doing pretty badly though, as others have reported for first tries. I'm admittedly not sure what I'm doing and this is the first time I've ever run Firestrike. Turned off Gsync and Vsync. Not much else going on in Nvidia monitor. I can see a path to improved scores with some core/memory overclocking, but seems low to start.

Any ideas on what I can look at to improve the stock settings and get a good baseline? I mean steps that would be obvious to a regular overclocker like disabling Gsync :). Temps don't seem to a problem. CPU bottleneck seems odd with a 9900k at 4.6-4.7 GHz.

Odd, try go into the nvidia control panel, under Manage 3D settings, set power management mode to prefer max performance & multi display/gpu to single display performance.

Thanks, that might offer some clues. Your suggestion bumped my GPU utilization up to 94%, but I ended up with a similar score as the core clock dropped 40 MHz. So perhaps it's some kind of power limit that I'm looking for.

    P775TM1-G

    9700K @ 4.8 across all core with -0.120v.

    2080 core +160 mem +600.

    FS - 23,304 - https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/34543904?
    Graphics - 27,999 (yeah that's irritating!!)
    CPU - 19,310

Driver is whatever windows thought was best!?!

CPU is Current Limit Throttling in XTU using the following settings:

What can I do to prevent this throttling? Temps are ok, max around 75C.

Raise core iccmax as high as it'll go

Physics at 4.8 should be 25K/26K or so

XTU does give you throttle reasons if you add them to the graph.
