Good if you want to or just bought something now, bad if you are waiting for the next best thing as you will need a lot more patience.

Right now #Covfefe Lake is mainly just Intel's response to AMD`s desktop parts, so you can expect it at first to show up only in the monster type of system.

The difference right now is that Ryzen and especially threadripper now offer better price/performance throughout the entire CPU stack (with the exception of low end R3 lacking iGPU affecting total system cost) so the sandbagged performance gains and staggered product release schedules of the last 5 years from Intel might not be a good indication of what is to come. (look at the mildly disorganised rush job that X299's launch was, for example)

Intel are trying some constant covfefe and paper launches to rain on TR's parade right now is my thought.

No point in buying new laptop models with next gen processor, if it comes with old Pascal graphics. Money down the drain.

If the promised baked in TB and Wifi do not appear in Coffee Lake, it will be another Intel disappointment I guess
