Companies do like making money and Clevo in no way has a monopoly :)

As situations change so will the products to as best they can judge match that.

People need to realize that a LOT of average people are never going to accept a heavy LGA laptop to carry around with them for work or school or business. They are going to buy a light and thin BGAbook. Because it's not feasible to carry around a 15 pound laptop. So BGA is ALWAYS going to massively outsell LGA. Students with 20 pounds of books don't have room for another 15 pound desktop replacement.

But what companies need to do is let people know that LGA desktop replacement laptops DO exist that can clock just as high as non water cooled desktops, and are MUCH lighter and easier to manage, and can be very convenient for people who don't want a full desktop. Those are the sales that need to increase. Not the BGA light and thin "I need to travel light so I need something cheap, decent quality and which works" group.

But what the BGA companies need to do is to improve their cooling and QA so the BGA Processors run as ADVERTISED without overheating or throttling. Design the specs you want, then make the proper chassis and cooling solution to properly cool it. And do a proper paste and job while you're at it.

There are also LGA laptops with a weight of 2.5kgs like the w650 or the n950. They are not so heavy imho

Will never happen, bruh!! You forgot one of the main reason the BGA was born. To be able to design and produce more of the thin and flimsy. Because of this steps will the cooling as you know always have to follow the notebook design. To compansate for the unavoidable lack of proper cooling, prefer the ODM/OEM engineers instead to develope and put in own <special created> firmware/software to stop it from overheating/thermal shutdown. This is more like going backwards into the future, bruh:bigconfused:

Engineers have to put considerations about form factor into the design?

Thin does not equal flimsy though, the p950/np8950 series is built well and feels good.

Then most of the time optimus/45w will get the job done.

Haha its funny how the interconnection between the cpu and the mobo is affecting the flimsiness of a machine. P870dm has a flimsy lid on the bottom side, maybe the gpu should be socketed on-top of mxm, that way it would fix the chassis ;)

Yeah I gave my relative a 7kg p870dm, she just browse the internet, but as Papusan suggested I would never gift a bga laptop, her back is aching now, house is full of power cords due to the battery life. but LGA RULES MAAAN! :D IDK WHY BUT EH
Who doesn't love shooting themselves in the foot?
