    they had been doing well up until this new yearish

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/ Manual search, select your graphics adapter under notebooks and search, then scroll down to see the older drivers.

    thank you. I think my vidcard/gpu are going.
    I will try that tonight. I actually restored to a prior windows back up and that did not solve the problem
    I used a driver from september, that did not work.
    I did a windows reinstall. that did not work.
    currently, it is working with the vid card disabled.

    Ouch! Keep a close eye on GPU temperatures, and other temperatures too. Plenty of utilities out there that will chart the temperatures for you. For all you know, it might just need a good cleaning and repasting. Fingers crossed.

    planning on cleaning it shortly, thank you. I am hoping that is what the problem is. I probably should have done it prior to resetting windows lol

    well a good cleaning changed nothing. I tried multiple old drivers for the 970m. I wonder if this card is just dieing :(
    waiting to see ifthere is a bios option. I am not sure if the 970m is something I can replace or not.
