Here are all possible BIOS options: http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/ There is no W150R, but it has to be one of the laptops in the list.

Is there a Rufus alternative for Linux Mint that allows to do what you suggested? The built-in USB creator and whatever I found online only allow to create a bootable USB if you have an image, so basically the same situation as I was facing with CD burning.

P.S. My machine does load from a USB. Confirmed with an image of Linux Mint that contains the grub bootloader. All I need now is a bootable image containing EC/BIOS or a way to copy the firmware files to a bootable USB.

In theory, if you create the USB stick from the image and then open the USB stick with Windows Explorer, you should be able to copy the files to the USB stick. Then boot from the USB stick.

This is not possible, since the bootable USB is created as read-only. Guess the OP should be updated with instructions on how to do this for non-image firmware. By the way, the link to the zfactor's guide is broken.

I see, you could use HP bootable USB creation tool then. Strange that the USB you created read only.

    Hello,

I am sorry if it's wrong thread, but i can't find my laptop listed anywhere.

I have a problem with Clevo W740SU. I gave it to the service and it turned out that BIOS is broken and the only option is to reprogram BIOS chip. Unfortunetly we can't find full BIOS for that (version of bios for update can't be used). Does anyone maybe have it ? I wrote few emails to clevo but no answer :/

    Try this http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/

There are separate files there for EC and BIOS.

It was my first thought but unfortunately it can't be done with those files, because they are for updates only (at least this is what they told me) :/

I am fairly certain they are the full version.
