    Duly Noted.

Given AMD's driver support reputation, I am not surprised if the 6970m is their only officially supported HD3D GPU.

haven't been following it too closely but i remember that the amd cards had issues and that the nvidia cards could not even be enabled in sli mode or something. so i am curious now if it is a simple swap of the cards or must you hack drivers and other things to get them to work?

swap of cards i would be interested in but not looking forward on hacked drivers and hacking bios's.

All that has to be done is a few lines added to the inf file for the device id. Mr. Fox has already posted the nvdm.inf file for people to use if they don't know how to mod the inf themselves. Other than that, its plug and play. As for the 7970M's, they are plug and play, no inf modding needed.

Mr. Fox, you should add into the notes section that the Clevo/Eurocomm 680m cards come with 4GB of VRAM as opposed to the Dell version that only comes with 2GB. Some people don't realize that when they get a price on the Dell card.

I upgraded to 12.11 beta 4 with 12.10 CAP1 and every issue I was having with games were gone. I was also having issues with the video drivers crashing on me about once a day and now that's gone. Even simple programs like Sketch Up gave me weird behaviors and now that's gone too. All around this drivers are a god send. Hopefully they keep it up. The 12.9 I was on before did not do these video cards any justice.

so what was the problem with the 7970m's then, simply driver related?

That's good to hear, but 12.11 beta 5 doesn't exist yet, you mean beta 4?
