So my CF52 started acting weird with the wifi loosing signal, and the front wifi LEDs switching themselves off. From what I could see my model (CF52-CCA32BE) is not a corporate model without wifi enabled. Just to make clear the wifi worked for long periods but slowly got worse with random disconnects, switching off etc. Replacing the anti-virus seemed to get it working, as did new ProSet drivers but it might have just been a coincidence. After installing the ProSet drivers it worked fine all night but the next day there was no hint of wifi or LEDs being illuminating. Eventually I thought I would try the trick of taping over pin 20, and guess what it worked. Although the front Wifi LEDs do not illuminate the wifi is working and the card is recognised in device manager. So I am guessing something is dragging pin 20 up (bad decoupling capacitor?) so am seeking a CF52 circuit diagram. Any suggestions/help gratefully received.

Try a new wifi card. Seems more likely the card is going bad.

Hi Steve, left out this is the third or fourth card I have tried. Tried both the 4965 and the 5300 both of which are meant to be OK in that model.

Ironically I have a CF-52 C model on the shelf that has the same issue. It must be a defect in the particular MK design.
We have older C2d units on the shelf that we would be happy to sell you if you cannot fix yours.

My thought is they are not Panasonic cards if the pin 20 trick worked.

    Can you
Can you post a pic of the cards you have tried?
