I've got a CF-31 M2 with the wireless and CF card in the upper bay.

The lower bay has two connectors one that looks like power and the other that looks like an interface. All of the drives with caddy's I have seen on the bay that say they are for the CF31 have a different connector.

Are they just incorrect (as I suspect) or do I have something unusual.

mk2 and later, standard models have 2 connectors.
1 is for the DVD drive and the other is for a media bay battery.
The performance models taht have ATI graphics do not have the second connector

Ah OK I thought maybe it was only for the battery but couldn't find anything that verified it. Thanks

And... As Shawn pointed out to me when I bought one... If you buy the media bay battery it will most likely come discharged. You may need to charge it externally first. When I bought my media bay battery my laptop wouldn't charge it or even recognize it until I charged it externally first.
