Finally back home for a little over a week. I picked up a MK6 on the bay in rough shape. The hinge was loose so i pulled the cover. Their is a green broken wire hanging out. It's got to be one of the antenna wires. Anyone know what it's for? Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cell phone chip?

It looks like I will answer my own question. On the MK6 they have changed the brown cell phone WWAN antenna wire to the color green.

I do like how a lot of my MK1 parts still fit. Swapping doors and lower lid on it now.

Later the 256 gb ssd and 4 more gb of ram is getting installed. Using my last spare 19 battery and caddy.

Picked up another MK5. My middle son is getting that one. He loves his MK3 so just swapping his battery and caddy over to the MK5 on that project.

I installed windows 10 pro on it using the windows 7 COA it came with. My 4gb chips I thought i had turned out to be 2gb chips. But luckily both the MK5 and MK6 had a single 4gb stick in each of them. So they are both at 6gb for now.

The loose hinge on the MK6 turned out to be loose and missing hinge and lid bolts. All replaced now with a mix of CF-18 and CF-19 parts. Still need to look in my parts to find a power port cover to see if i have one.

I replace just about every other cover with used spares. Even swapped out most doors and had to pull the bottom to replace the damaged dock port cover. Still got less than 110 right now in a MK6 for a bump around unit.

I don't plan on using the WWan so i just left the wire broke inside. I could of replaced it with one from a MK1, but it won't be used anyway so i just skipped it.
