Has anyone used the knock caddies they sell on eBay? Or does someone have a good supply of OEM ones here?

They work fine, not made as good but they got the job done.

I have never use anything but the OEM caddy in the 52. I did buy a China caddy for a 29 and it was junk. Did not work because the cable did not stick out of the caddy far enough. Be careful of the China 52 caddies. Many of the listings are only the caddy but no data cable.

I noticed that some didn't include the cable. Do anyone know what they cost from Heartland? I am surprised know one has a stash of them on the forum, maybe they are hoarding them waiting for the price to go up. :)

Heartland was charging at one time around $79.00 plus shipping

The reason why you don't see a lot around is when a company takes them out of service they just pull the caddy/HDD out and destroy it. It's cheaper and faster for them.

Hold out for an OEM... Even pay more. Sometimes you can get them with blank drives installed. I have several blank external hard drives now as result. Don't go Chinese... They make great checkers.... But crappy caddys!
