Ive had the CF-28STJGZKM for over a year now. Really pleased with it honestly. But around 1-2 months in the green backlight said goodbye and stopped working. Now I’m thinking it could be a cable came loose or something. I think I have to remove the cover for the LCD (see picture).

    Thanks

The deep green chicklet emissive keyboard on the CF-28 isn't like the ones on the later model toughbooks. It it lit up by what has been call the "texas" board to make it light up.

If I remember right it's under the back side of the toughbook, under that removable cover held on by screws.

The rubber keyboards didn't use that extra board to light up, just the older emissive keyboards did.

Well. I checked it today and the ribbon cables were intact and there. All plugged in. So the backlight must’ve burnt out sadly :)
