The Sierra aircard in my CF 20 suddenly stopped working in the middle of a session.
Now it is not even in device manager (also no unknown devices)
I pulled out the card and re seated it to no avail.

    Any one a idea ?

First idea - check whether cellular/WWAN is enabled in Windows/BIOS.
Second idea - power pull reset
    1. Pull battery.
    2. Disconnect power supply.
    3. Hold power switch on for 20 seconds with one hand while holding someone's tits with another hand.
    4. Plug in power supply, battery. Check if it works now.
(it's copy-pasted from one of this forum threads, but includes my own lifehack)

Windows 10 has a habit of doing this with hardware, if you had an update roll back to see if it works before the update.

@BaRRmaley will try that without the second part of 3 :p

@Michael AU No update was done as it is blocked when working on WWAN for paying reasons, it just stopped working while surfing the net (also no viruses if you thinking about that)

I also had issues with devices such as the touchpad and the wwan card that would stop working and this resolved it (as i have a cf-20 with an em7455), you need to go in device manager and turn off the power saving features of the usb hub(i did for both usb2 and usb3).
    You can also try to upgrade the firmware, i used the latest one from here;
    https://techship.com/downloads/category/firmware-firmware-sierra-wireless-sierra-wireless-em7455/

Also some drivers are more stable than others, i would try different/newer ones.

I have the EM7305 (European version)
Power saving is already off (from a earlier problem with the usb in the keyboard dock)
I cant upgrade firmware or drivers if Windows does not even see the card !

    SOLVED !

I did the trick from BaRRmaley (Without that special part), but had still no WWAN in the statusbar, but i now had the usb mobile device in device manager witch was disabled. Enabled it and it worked.
Very strange ! i don't know why windows suddenly cut some devices out of the blue.

I don't think it was Windows.
Maybe WWAN module has tried to get too much power and was disabled by hardware (like fuse). Need to consult with my engineer :)
