i have found some info saying the misc driver i need is the cf-19 mk2 vista driver. ive unpacked it but im not sure how to install it. without it i cant install the screen or battery calibration.

ive also found a windows7 pro misc driver for the mk3.

not sure which one to use to be honest. my model it CF-19CHB06BE with windows 7 ultimate. i followed the cf-18 > windows 7 install procedures found on here.

    thanks

Maybe condensing the procedure down from the larger chart will help:

    Installation procedure

    Software name - Details:
    Panasonic Misc Driver

    File name:
    newmisc_1930_22_d070385.exe

    Ahead developing folder:
    c:\util2\drivers\newmisc

    Installation procedure:
Executing [Update driver..] in the device manager

    Installation procedure - details:
1.Executing [Update driver..] in the device manager. [Other devices]-[Unknown devices]]
    2. Run "Update driver".
    3. Select "c:\util2\drivers\newmisc".

    Related driver etc.:
    Yes

    Related driver etc. - details:
    Relating driver and application.

    Notice:
    ● Install "Panasonic Common Components" and "Panasonic Misc Driver" before installing "Relating driver and application".
    ● Two or more "[Other devices]-[Unknown device]" might exist.
    ● "Panasonic Misc Driver" is displayed with "ACPI\MAT0021" by "Device Instance Id" of "[Unknown device]->[Details]".

    "Might" means "not necessarily." ;)

ive read the specific instructions for the misc driver. i have no unknown devices. there is nothing in the device manager called misc driver. the only thing with ACPI is under system devices and its a choice of about 7 different things.

copying what is written in the PDF doesnt really get me any further. i still dont know how to install the driver.

If there are no ! or ?marks in the Windows Device Manager, why are you trying to even consider installing the Panasonic Misc Driver ???

"If it ain't broke, fix it `til it is broke!" ;)

nope. everything in device manager looks fine. the reason i need the misc driver is to install the screen calibration software, and the battery calibration software and maybe other things.

i have just upgraded to a 500GB HDD and and starting from scratch. last time i did the win7 upgrade i got to installing the misc driver onto one of the 'unkown devices' but this time i followed the intructions closer and found id missed something last time which when installed correctly leaves you with no faults in the device manager.

so at the minute my screen inst calibrated. last time round i managed to get the software to run but not finalise the calibration which will be the next hurdle but at least if everything works i dont have to have a working touchscreen.

I'm curious as to why you didn't simply "clone" your old hard drive if everything worked before with the other drive?

See if this helps at all:

CF-19K/L (Windows 7 Professional) Installation Instructions for All CF-19 Drivers and Utilities

This document shows the correct order of installing all CF-19 drivers and applications
¹ If "-batch" specified, automatically extracts and installs the selected driver or application in silent mode.
² In cases where application is in a directory outside of .inf file, the path is displayed in the Command Line column

I don't know how to clone the drive lol. And I didn't have everything Woking before. The screen wouldn't calibrate. The driver I've got doesn't have an application I can run. It's got a .inf file but do I just copy that to system32 and restart or what? Can't remember how I did it before.

The software comes with Instructions; and as previously noted: "If all else fails, read the Instructions" ;)
You go to the directory containing all the files with the .inf and "Right Click" on the .inf file, then select "Install" from the resultant Drop-Down Menu.
