Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a CF-18 Touchscreen and a Digitizer screen without taking the casing apart? I have a machine minus the motherboard that I need to identify. The label on the bottom is missing so I have no way of identifying by model number.

Yikes... If you have the pen then you can tell that it's a digitizer because it will have a little button on the side of it (the pen is normally stored in the screen it's self)

On the other side, if it does NOT have a button then it is a touchscreen.

Ok here are a few clues:

The pen holder slot on the touchscreen model is only 1/2" acroos Tablet is about 1"

There will be a rubber seal flap on the rear left of the case for the serial port. Tablet do not have serial ports

Windows XP COA on the touch model. Tablets have XP Tablet edition COA

Designed for windows XP badge on the left wrist wrest. No badge on the tablet as they are designed for XP tablet.

That's all I can think off but should help you determine what you have.

Also consider the cable harness. The touchscreen cable at the other end has only two connector while the digitizer has three.
