My keyboard is Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
which was purchased 2 years ago on Amazon.

Recently the Caps lock key does not work. The led does not light up. It doesn't work too.

I have used 10+ keyboards in my life . This Microsoft one is the most expensive I've ever purchased.
I used cheap keyboards, but there was no any problems with the keys

I am wondering if I unconsiciously hit any key or setting that makes the caps lock key not working
which is not a mechanical failure of the keyboards

    Any idea?

Test it in another computer first, or another keyboard in that same computer.

I second that as well. And if the caps or any other fails then toss it and get another. Keyboard if you use it constantly for 2 years will fail eventually form wear and tear. No keyboards last forever and the cost to replace is alot better then trying to fix it.

I'd guess a bad key. It's unlikely software did something like this unless you assigned a macro somehow, and I figure you'd remember setting something like that up.

Anything I can do to fix this bad key?

It's a new Ms keyboard used two years only !!

I had unknown keyboard brand used for 10 years without a single bad key !!

If you can get the key off and check underneath, there might be something stuck in there, but in all honesty it may not be something you can fix.

Don't let it be an indictment of a particular brand, some of the no names fail in days, some last 10 years, same as big brands.
