I have an asus x456u that has an i5-6200u with nvidia 940mx mid gaming laptop and the battery type is a Lithium ion one. Can I just plug the charger for a long time? Because I game and use my laptop for a long time but I'm afraid the battery would die quickly and my laptop might not function well in the future. please help me, thank you!

I know Sony and Thinkpad had controls to prolong battery life last decade.
... A web search reveals Asus has a control for this also, though it might not work in older Asus laptops as it appears to be new for 2017.

that battery app probably won't work on that laptop.

and yes, it's ok to stay plugged in all the time.

Your battery is going to die in a few years regardless how you use it.

Thank you for reaching out and we're happy to assist you with your query. It is okay to keep your charger connected. However, this will cause the battery life to deteriorate a bit faster.
