    Some basic rules that usually apply

    Shared gpu ( intel , sis etc ) = suck
    Ati , nvidia ( non shared ) = good even if they have only 32/64

    dedicated always > shared memory

    ati/nvidia have better 3D graphic engine

    but for best understanding search benchmarks for the shared "gpu"
    and the 9200 mobility to see the difference and how well they perform in reality

    The 9200 will play it better, but it still wont be very good, I have a 9600 in my laptop and i only get 30 - 50 fps on most levels, with up to 80 on some of the smaller maps like awp_source

    zx5000 :: 2.4M :: 512 DDR :: 40gb 4200 RPM HD :: 15.4" :: Radeon 9600 Mobilty M10 :: Aquamark3 22,856

    I would recommend getting any laptop with a Radeon 9600 in it for source as a minimum. There are many to choose from eMachines, Averatec or with the newer ATI x600 HP/Compaq and I'm sure there are some others out there as well.

    Of those two, you would see a definite performance increase with the 9200. I bet, though, if you search around, you can find another notebook in a similar price range with a 128 MB ATI or nVidia card. At the moment, the best notebooks for gaming are the Area-51m 7700, Sager 9860, and comparable models; but I don't know what sort of price range you're looking for.

    Alienware Area-51m 7700
    Pentium 4, 3.6; 2 GB RAM; 256 MB GeForce 6800 GO; 100 GB Seagate HDD
    Dual optical drives, free mousepad

    Perhaps expensive, but well worth it, depending on what sort of use you're looking for. As for battery life, the same thing; my 7700's battery lasts anywhere from one to two hours, but I rarely carry it in a wilderness without power outlets. Perhaps the 9860, 7700, etc. aren't designed with portability in mind, but for gaming...very nice.

    yeah, but if your not going to be moving it around too much, i'd just get a desktop for cheaper and with better components
