I want to put Windows XP Tablet edition on my Toughbook CF-30 MK3 with Bios v3.00L16. I am getting the 0x0000007B Error evertime I reinstall Windows XP. My system came with CloudReady and then I install Linux Lite. Windows 7 installs with no problem. But there is stuff on Windows XP I want to use like all the tablet powertoys and older software I have problems with running on Windows 7. Like an older version of Adobe Acrobat. If you can help thank you so much.

You do know that XP with service pack 3 has everything that XP tablet has?

Personally, I would use a factory recovery set for XP, then install service pack 3.

Also I only get the 0x0000007B Error after installing windows xp. It pops up before windows can boot.

It sounds like your bios has the HDD set to sata while xp needs ahci.
There is a file somewhere to change it..I think the file was for a cf30??..

    Some info from here
    http://www.prime-expert.com/articles/a11/change-from-ide-to-ahci-without-reinstalling-windows-xp.php

Disk controller for SATA HDDs can operate in both AHCI and IDE compatible mode. You can switch between them the in BIOS setup. AHCI mode works faster and has more features, while IDE compatible mode requires no special drivers to install older operating systems like Windows XP. Unfortunately, if you decide to switch between IDE and AHCI after installing Windows, you will get a BSOD (blue screen of death) during the next boot.

AHCI is enabled but can not disable my bios has no option. I have tried install the right AHCI drivers when installing xp. So I am not sure if it will work. If I had the right recovery disc even if it is for sp2 I would try it just to see if it will work or not. So I may be stuck with using windows 7. but any other ideas that come up I will give it a try. also the audio problems I was having did have to do with windows audio sound being muted. Just a recap from another post you commented on that I posted a while back. thank you

Are you here in the US? I have several Mk3's on hand and could restore a drive to XP on my end. Heartland should have the Mk3 XP restore disc also. Just looked at Panasonic and there is a sata driver in red for Mk3 with XP that they said needs to be used. And for some reason I cant copy and paste it here
