I just received a brand new P1, charged it up to full... and the battery lasted less than 2 and a half hours.

    Is this thing defective?

What are the specs and your settings?

It's basically the top of the line model - Core i9, 4K screen, T2000, etc.

As for settings, I'm not sure what you mean? Is there something that would be helpful to look into here?

Typically, the 4k screens hit the battery much harder than 1080 LCDs. As always with notebooks the brightness level of the screen is the biggest determinant of battery life, so if you're running it at full brightness on a 4k using max power, you're probably not going to get the best battery life.
