So I received a brand new Inspiron a week ago,it's the AMD 5576 gaming model. According to device manager it has the Qualcomm QCA9377 card. Our home wifi network runs through a Verizon wireless N router, we have their 50/50 plan.

Speedtest when the laptop is plugged into the router is good, 55-60 mb/s up/down. When on wifi, it struggles to get above 5 mb/s down but is getting 35-40 up. I disabled the wifi card and plugged in a generic USB wifi adapter I had in a drawer. instantly faster. 35-40 up/down.

I've also tried rolling back/updating the drivers for the qualcomm card, but nothing seems to make a difference. Is this card maybe defective? Any other suggestions or drivers I can try? I'm definitely not interested in sending my brand new computer back to them, if it's the card I'd rather just buy a replacement on ebay and install it myself.

Is the Wi-Fi 2x2 or is it using an old standard?

From what I can tell, the card in the computer is only capable of 1x1, it's this card-

Any idea what type of card would be the best replacement if I do have to get rid of this card?
