I have bought my laptop in June this year - and today - when I was performing some tests I noticed something strange - like a shadow, on my screen.

The problem is generated by the lock screen image with the Alienware name / logo

This is a big issue for me and I cannot believe that this can happened with such a high end product.

call up dell if you bought it brand new and have them send a replacement. ;)

Added a BIOS photo - (sorry the quality is not DSLR but it's taken with my phone)

I will contact them tomorrow to find out why I have this effect on my screen.

Have you checked if the same effect happens using an external monitor?

No effect on the second monitor (tryed 2 different models already a Samsung & a Sony) :(

After shut down / left for a while 5-10 min - the efect dissapears but it's reappearing after 10-20 min of usage.

Does this only happen during the BIOS screen? Because it looks like a hardware problem to me.

You shouldn't have any problem with getting Dell to replace. I had mine replaced recently (for a different problem) and as soon as I told the tech it happens on the BIOS screens he didn't make me do any tests just sent an engineer with a new panel :D. Unless your handy with a screwdriver I'd advise an engineer as it's quite a bit of dismantling...

Not to complicated. :p I've swapped my screen twice after dell sent me the assembly and I'll have to do it again when I order my 1080p panel. ;)
