To put things into perspective: I started driving in 1998, gas prices were $.90-.99 a gallon (we have close to the pricest gas in the US) and I paid $440 a month for insurance. That's a lot more then yu got quoted.

Wow. I thought $2400 was a lot when I started driving 5 years ago.

My insurance went up when I turned 25. I was furious!

I called up my insurance company (who I am about to drop after yet another premium increase, 4th one in a row, no tickets on record, no accidents), and they claimed it was a new Oregon law that they had to follow. Fantastic. I looked up for that law, found nothing.

Granted, my insurance only went up $20, but after hearing for years that prices would drop after I hit that certain age, I was more than annoyed.

Now for the extremely daunting task of finding an agent that will insure my hearse, and give me a good price on my truck.

And yes, Insurance in Ontario is extreme. One of my friends with a hearse up there had outrageous rates, and ended up having to sell her car. Just remember, 4 doors == cheaper.

I also had a mustang 5.0 for a first car and my parents had a perfect driving record too. Never again will I use allstate or nationwide as they are just too expensive.

Plus, President Palmer is their spokesperson. Don't make him call Jack Bauer.

Welcome to the world of car insurance, I have a poopy old 4 door contour and I pay about $2500 a year, I don't even have collision. You will end up paying more for insurance than for repairs or the car. Just lame.
