According to wirecuter, the best budget laptop at this point is ASUS ROG G551JW (DS71: TN Display, no SSD/DS74: IPS Display, 128GB SSD). They also have 960m graphics card. And also, the ROG G751JL with 965m will come out soon.

    and, GL551JW benchmark video:

The chief competition is Lenovo Y50 (Lenovo Y50-70 Laptop - 59440675/59440654/59443536/59440644). Some varients of the Y50 are 8gbRAM/2gbVRAM/1tbHDDwith8gbSSDcache, 16gbRAM/4gbVRAM/1tbHDDwith8gbSSDcache, 16gbRAM/4gbVRAM/512gbSSD, price ranging from 1099$ to 1700$.

    Y50 Battlefield Hardline ULTRA gameplay:

The older model of Y50 had some issues with the hinges and the fans, details can be found in the following link:

edit: Adding SAGER NP8651(Clevo P650SE) as another option. Here's a video of the laptop. This one has the best configuration built in (3gb 970m GDDR5) and a lot of customization options starting at a price 1300$.

Spend a bit more and get a 970M... The 960M is a 1.5 year old card (rebrand of 860M) and the 965M is hardly better.. The 970M blows them all out of the water.. For 1300, you can get the Sager NP8651 with 970M (get LG IPS screen upgrade as stock screen is crap).. Spend a bit more and it will last longer..

How good is this Sager NP8651 as a gaming laptop? it also has a lot of customization options. In case of international shipping, how good will this product be in the context of a long term investment?

It is very solid from my research and is one of two I'm personally considering, the other is the Sager NP8652. Sager is mostly USA, but Clevo is the actual hardware maker and there are other brands they are marketed under in other countries. If you say where you're buying from we can try to help you figure out where to look for buying.

I am from India too. You can buy a Clevo laptop from a company called Azom.
Here's the amazon link for the Clevo laptop from Azom:

    Clevo model is P150SM.

It's the lowest price you can get locally. You can contact Azom for more info and upgrades.

However, Xotic PC is much better.

Yes. That's why I said Xotic PC is better.
This is the only local option available.
