What you think is better/quality? Which one you prefer? What will you buy?

    Is it Vostro or Inspiron??

    1. Vostro

    2. Inspiron

Which give you more for less?

    3. Vostro

    4. Inspiron

    A battle isn't necessary.

Do your research with the posts already here and you'll find out what suits your needs. A summary from all the posts here include, a Vostro has a cheaper price for a low-end system, while an Inspiron has a cheaper price for middle system.

I'd expect the Vostro to have a better build quality (Business class), While the Inspiron would give you more "Bang for the buck."

idk about the better build quality-i mean they're basically mirror images...maybe that's something they want you to think at least? either way they're both a good value. It all depends on the current deals and your particular build.

They're identical in terms of build quality...

Latitudes are the better business notebooks.

From Dell's website, Vostro appears to have a sturdier chassis with magnesium alloy.

vostros are cheaper if they are under 1k. there was no way i could configure an inspiron with a 8600gt for under $800.

    Inspiron all the way.

Much more bang for the buck, and they've always been reliable.

Well there is no way I could have gotten what I got in my 1400 in a 1420 for the same price...plus all black looks sexy! As far as build quality...idk they are probably the same...

There isn't one. They are identical. Maybe you should make this a color poll instead? Vostro's are black?? :S

I partially fixxed the poll. It is kind of pointless and asks the wrong question. But I will leave it as is.

Look here for the end-all answer:

    - If you are looking for a cheap 15" laptop that lets you do day-to-day stuff, Pick Vostro.
    - If you are looking for mid-level 15" laptop that lets you play older games too, pick vostro.
    - If you are looking for game-playing 15", pick inspiron (use coupon).
    - If you are looking for 17" anything, pick inspiron (use coupon).

My 1520 was like $400 cheaper with coupons then if I'd buy a vos right now.

What? They are the same thing.

What? They are the same thing.

Your end all answer should be whatever gives the better deal, like colored lid or black case, or business end support vs home.

You clearly fall into the 3rd category, you have a t7500 with 8600GT.

A cheap computer "type" that lets you do day-to-day stuff IS NOT YOUR COMPUTER.

You can get a vostro for 599 with the SMART BUY option which covers category 1 and category 2. Try to build me an inspiron for that price and with the same spec.

What? Hell yes a battle is necessary. Only an antivostrite would suggest otherwise.

I'm not going to argue over low-end, budget Dell systems.
