    Hello.

I am a student considering purchasing a Dell 600m but I have noted a few reviews that say the battery is loose and wiggles around causing problems... is this a common/large problem? Also, just how bad is the problem with the left wristpad getting hot during use?

    Much thanks!

I'm going to publish my 600m review next week. I've not noticed anything with battery wiggle and it certainly hasn't bothered me. Now that you've pointed it out I'll pay attention next time I use the machine.

As far as the left wrist pad goes, it is pretty annoying. I'm not used to having to deal with that on other laptops, so I do notice it. But, some will be oblivious to it. It's not uncomfortable really, and can actually be good in the winter [:)] , but it is an annoyance.

I have had my 600m for over a year and no wiggles to report. Feel free to use :D

AS for the wrist pad getting hot. It happens basically because Dell "designed' the 600m's main fan under the left side of the 600m. The hard drive is located on the left hand rest and that is what gets hot if the underside fan is covered. I would just say to try to have the bottom uncovered if you can by either elevating it or sliding it to the left side of a desk so that the underside fan is not covered.

I've had a 600m for almost a year. The battery has some wiggle room but that doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Also, it hasn't gotten any wigglier.

Thanks for the advice guys, but after doing some additional comparing I decided to go with the 700m and it should arrive here early next week! [8D]
