Hi so I just recently upgraded to a AGA and a gtx 1080 ti (well they sent me a 1080 the ti is supposed to be in the mail) and my benchmarks on the card are horrible (only 103% on user benchmark 100% is a gtx 1070) anyone have any ideas why my bench marks are so bad?

    UserBenchmarks: Game 89%, Desk 61%, Work 51%
    CPU: Intel Core i7-6700HQ - 65.3%
    GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 - 103.5%
    SSD: Crucial MX300 SATA M.2 525GB - 74.8%
    SSD: Samsung CM871 M.2 2280 128GB - 43.7%
    HDD: HGST Travelstar 7K1000 2.5" 1TB - 58.1%
    RAM: Unknown F4-2133C15-8GRS 16GB - 58.5%
    MBD: Alienware 17 R3

Wait, is that a laptop or a desktop since there are no 1080 TI laptops and no 6700HQ desktops that I know of.

    GTX 1080ti in the AGA

Use some real bench-marking programs and go from there. 3D Mark 11, Firestrike, Time Spy, Cinebench 11, RoTR. We can work woth those #s an maybe tell you what is holding you back.

In that case I'd probably lean towards CPU bottlenecking. After all, it's a 3.1GHz quad-core only.

well I would agree with you normally but 2nd gen quadcores are barely and I mean very marginally bottlenecking a 1080ti so a 6th gen quad core should be fine I mean if you use a dual core one of the new pentiums they dont bottle neck at all and that's a dual core with hyperthreading

You see, here's where you're dead wrong. A 1080/Ti is easily bottlenecked by CPUs such as the 3770K or 2600K. Even more so by the 6700HQ which is slower than both. This is, however, assuming that we are talking about 1080p. At 1440p or above, even the R3 1200 and i3 8100 shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, the 6700HQ will bottleneck the performance of the GTX 1080TI. But not by 65% (GTX 1070 levels) which the OP is getting
