I've been eyeing (is that a word...?) for a while and I've even got a tab open to a store page for this... :(
And it'll let me utilize my R6300 AC router :D

Change of plans. I contacted Acer technical support and they informed me if I change the WiFi card and later something (other than the WiFi card) breaks, I have to put back in the old WiFi card before sending it to the repair service. Even if something such as memory or hard drive breaks.

The warranty lasts for two years, so I have to hold onto the N 7260 card for that duration. :(

That's the exact opposite of what they should have told you.

Are you sure you understood right?

So hold on to it then. I don't know that they'd ever even notice. Only thing I'd be concerned with is if you send it in due to some major malfunction and they replace the motherboard or just send you a refurb unit with your current HDD then you'd lose your AC card. But it's really only about a $30 card so not like it's the end of the world.
