Hey all, Been a while since I posted. My last was a 2016 repaste guide. I just purchased a new M17 R3 and it will be here tomorrow. Outnif the loop for a bit and have a few questions. 1) Is it actually true that you can't add /upgrade Ram? 2) I believe these are using the 240w power supply, any benefit from using the 2016 330w? 3). The I7 10750 cpu, how is the Celsius Temps while running the latest games? Should a repaste using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut be first on the list? Thanks all,
Yes, unbelievable for sure. Especially an Alienware that is meant to be changed. Thermals are on par with any other 10th gen I7 I've seen. Time for a Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut repaste if I can ever find anyone that sells it that isn't a scammer. Performance PC wants 15 dollars shipping lol......
Kryonaut is likely to pump out. Ch eck out Phobya Nanogrease Extreme, it's going to be more expensive though. Enjoy another idiocy - the inverted motherboard - during your repaste job.
My Alienware 2016 17 inch was an inverted mother board as well. It was no problem. Just ordered some Kryonaut, I will try to do a repasting of this one as well, with pictures here.
Bro @etern4l forgot to add in that Dell also went with soldered on Wifi Azor fullfilled his mission at Dell with killing own brand. None blinked one eye. It was expected to happen http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...0-owners-lounge.783377/page-499#post-11064631 Be prepered to re-paste often. Some have to do it several times a year.
Inverted mobo is not an insurmountable problem, but it does make it l more laborious and slightly more risky to perform the repaste. Which you will need to do frequently with Kryonaut.
