AVIRA the best antivirus software?

    Windows Defender doesn't pick up browser tracking cookies as spyware as other spyware scanners do.

    I know, nor does MBAM, but MBAM has picked up some nasties in the past that WinDef hasn't. WinDef=phail.

    Would you mind to tell what nastie is that? Windows defender reports only serious threats.

    Don't remember was a while ago. I think it was a trojan.

    Huge compulsory update in avira causing a reboot. O_O
    Never had this in Version 8. oh well :]

    ^I got it too. The updater was stuck in scanning for a while.

    I haven't had this happen on my 1530...I'm installing on my Mini 9 in a few minutes..will update shortly as to the outcome :D

    Wow another compulsory update that wants to reboot after....eh. Annoying because I don't turn my pc off, and restarting bugs me :]

    avira 9 premium here, mine checks for updates every 2 hours, but has never asked me to reboot

    For those with the update/reboot issues; did you modify avnotify.exe's permissions at all to get rid of the nag pop-up? I just came across this on the avira forums and for one person undoing the modification helped. It's worth a try.
