Avira: scan USB sticks automatically?

    How can I set Avira to automatically scan for viruses a USB stick when its inserted?

    or at least to have a desktop shortcut to scan the remobavle drive with a single click.

    Avira does it automatically for me when I insert a Flash Stick.

    Derivatives of Autorun is the most detected etc.

    oh well... how do I know if my Avira is doing it too?

    I don't see anything on screen when plugging the USB stick...

    when I click on "product update" it only updates avnotify... so I guess I am up to date...

    sorry to insist on this...

    how do you know it scans your flash stick? you get a Luke Filewalker window, or some kind of notification?

    Avira will scan on every read, write or read&write action, depending on your settings.
    Just set the heuristic level highest and scan on read&write and you're good.
    However, disabling autoplay is a must these days.
    No matter what, every AV/AS will fail one time, even the best, so disabling autoplay is an easy way to improve security regardless of your choice of AV and especially regarding USB sticks.
