AVG Free vs AVIRA free anti-virus

    do you guys consider McAFEE a waste off space on your computers
    i was told for my new laptop vostro 1700 to add it on the machine?

    i was looking for freeware that actualy works on this dell machine???????

    Yeah, McAfee is pretty bad. It's a lousy firewall and anti-virus program.

    Avira is way better than AVG nowadays. Also put Avast! in your consideration.

    AVG 8.0 tries to delete Crysis.exe and other executable flash files. That problem was there in version 7.5. Even on the latest version they have not corrected it. Because of this irritating problem, I switched over to Avira Free 8.2. At least it asks my permission before doing anything.
