Windows Defender has some surprising results here. Webroot sucks with a record score of 2/6 for protection.

What would you recommend as the lightest AV solution?

At least not Avast (Scam company). Look at Eset Nod32. Or just use Micro$flaws own AV software.

If you're looking at Win defender grab latest offline 4.18 engine update which is way lighter than 4.18.1905.x. If you use Windows update then you are already on latest engine and definitions for max protection.
I'm using Configure Defender for the 1.5 yrs for advanced protection. https://github.com/AndyFul/ConfigureDefender
