    Hello all!

I have recently bought said usb hub to bypass some of the usb juggling in my laptop. I'm using a Clevo P751 6700k, 1070gtx and 16gb ram.

The problem is my headset seems to hate the new hub - it's a usb plugged Asus Rog Strix headset with a 7.1 surround base with it. The Audio over time starts to crack more and more and I can hear a bit of static.

My question is not about this particular headset as I will be buying an analog plugged one soon as I don't like playing around with all these fancy options and the Strix is mediocre at best anyway (got it for free) but rather a general question about the hubs and laptops: Will all more advanced devices suffer the same performance hit?

I bought the hub with hope that I would free the usb slots for my Oculus Rift and a steering wheel.. Maybe it's just the fault of the headset itself? The audio issues happen both when the headset is plugged into the hub or into the laptop directly, as long as the hub is in the USB-C the issues occur.

    Would greatly appreciate any suggestions!

    Thanks a lot! :)

I would try a powered hub. The one that you bought doesn't seem to be powered.

Could you maybe suggest a good and trusted usb-c powered hub? I keep searching and I can't seem to really find anything that really looks good and stable...

    Thank you for your help!

Sorry, I'm still stuck on using old powered USB hub. It's not a USB-C hub. You are correct about not too many USB-C hubs are powered. I did see an interesting comment on some of the USB-C hubs that state you need external powered disk drives. So maybe your hub is just not providing enough power.
