I mostly use my stock laptop speakers. They're Dynaudio, but they're not much for music. They're OK for game audio. The harmon/kardon in my very old Toshiba SLi1 are still the best I ever had in a laptop.

When I hook up to the HT, I have a Denon avr-1707 & Polk S20.

    My headphones are:
    -Shure SHR440
    -Denon DN-HP500
-Skullcandy Hesh2 wireless [They were $30 in a Target clearance bin]

    Favorite new product: Fluance Ai40

To be honest, most ~100 USD Headphones will have some sort of quirk, none will be perfect.

If you can go at about 250$, Meze 99 Neo would make a compelling choice

Otherwise, I reviewed something M0 BE00BT thingies in the past, which should be a good upgrade from the keyhole kind of sound you gety from ATH M40X, you can find more about them here

Also, you should be able to buy them from here:

    They aren't available.
    What about these choices?
    • Ath- M50X
    • Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO(32 ohm version)
