    Hello,

Would anyone be aware of the part number of the ATI Mobility Radeon X600 256MB GPU (or of the DELL Latitude D810 motherboard that would include this GPU)? I am looking to purchase a D810 with this GPU, you see, or at the very least a motherboard with this GPU so that I can replace the motherboard of another system.

(I understand that the specification sheet for the DELL Latitude D810 only lists the X600 with 128MB; however, several Internet commentators—and a few sellers with whom I have discussed—have listed the Latitude D810 as including the 256MB variant.)

For additional reference, here is an archive of the website for the GPU after its release in 2004.

    Please respond.

    Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your response. Is it always 128MB, though? This would conflict with other details that have been read.

Oh? It is possible to upgrade the GPU? I have read conflicting comments in regard to this possibility. Would you be able to shine light on this apparent discrepancy?

The M70 is the same as the D810, except it's got a different lid and obviously the Quadro FX. Never tried upgrading a D810 to a 7900GTX however since XPS M170's are quite rare.

Have you ever attempted a GPU upgrade for the D810 (excluding to the 7800GTX)?

If I purchase D810 without the ATI Mobility Radeon X600 256MB—or even a D610—do you think it would it be possible to upgrade it to that variant? The Quadro FX Go1400 appears to be a better choice, of course.

D610 cannot be upgraded because it doesn't have a GPU-on-module like the D810 has. Since the D810 and M70 are the same the GPUs are interchangable. Stay away from the Quadro cards, they die really, really quickly, and the GT(X) cards run hot as hell in the D810 chassis.

Or you could buy my D810 which already has a X600.

Thank you for your information. I will try to be careful in regard to purchases. I only wish I could find the 256MB variant of the GPU.

I was not aware that it was for sale...! Would you be willing to list additional specifications (e.g., does it have have the 2.26 GHz Intel Pentium M 780)? Thank you.

    Pentium M 740
    512MB RAM
    WXGA screen
    X600 GPU
    40GB HDD

Take this into PMs if you're really interested.
