I removed the secondary card from my dual 4870 M17x. Part # is NHCHW.

    1) M17x ATI Radeon 4870 Secondary VGA card w/ CF cable (Dell part # NHCHW)

    2) Removed from a new M17x

    3)

    4) *SOLD* ($400) *SOLD*

    5) Paypal

    6) Will ship via USPS Priority Mail w/ Insurance

    7) Heatware feedback - http://www.heatware.com/eval.php?id=42258

    8) It's easier to sell my M17x laptop w/ a single 4870 for a cheaper amount.

Could you use the cf connector to put this into a 5870 in the R1?

I don't think the M17x or M15x will even accept a 5870 yet? Has Alienware released a new bios that will allow the 5870? Also, the 5870 that is listed in the FS forums doesn't have a CF connector.

For the M15x, the A05 bios yes. I really truly believe, Dell will never release 5870 for the M17x, i think it will be a long time or they will pull a swindle and release an entire new machine, especially since their has been so much problems and so little much to do with it.

I think the price may be holding folks back.

    Good luck!

Well there is another listed for the exact same price, so you can try undercutting the other guy or just wait it out.

One a side note, these should now work in an M15x for anyone who wants a good upgrade from the GTX 260m. The new BIOS that allows for a 5870 should also allow a 4870.
