The 7260 card I have now is EOL and will not be receiving any more firmware updates from Intel so I am ditching it. I'm pretty embarassed to have not found an Atheros 802.11ac Mini PCIe card after much searching. I can easily find M.2 cards for less than $5 but Mini-PCIe cards are hard to come by, and are almost all for embedded applications or APs and very expensive. I have considered getting an M.2 to PCIe adapter but I am not sure if it will be too tall, and I would much rather avoid changing the antennas.

There weren't any if I remember correctly, so the adapter is the only way to go from here.

It's nice, if a bit expensive, and I'd certainly want one in my notebook as it would give me a proper increase in terms of NAS access, but my notebook will only fit a half-height card.

Broadcom based Azureware CE-123h? I have it in all my machines and it trumps the 7260~, minus the "enterprise software".

Needs to be Atheros-based, broadcom support of Linux is crap.
